Buffalo Traders Lounge
Oh my cocktail, design goodness.
Buffalo Traders Lounge opened earlier this summer and I finally got around to visiting with my friend Tyler. He is a fellow lover of design, craft drinks, and locality so he was the perfect person to grab an old fashioned cocktail with.
When you enter, you are transported to classic, art deco dreamland. Everything about it is beautiful and comforting. I don't think that I have been in a space before that is so predominately blue but exudes warmth. From a design perspective, they used the most rich colors and unexpected finishes. It all melds together to create this 'period piece' of a lounge that makes you feel like you are in a significant place.
I was reading about the lounges story and it mentioned their goal of expanding the cocktail culture in Grand Rapids. It was great to read that piece of their vision as this is known as such a beer city. While I love a good craft beer and the fact that we often hold that title, I like that we are introducing more craft cocktails to the scene. As an ode to the city they call home, the lounge still offers crafted beers for patrons that they rotate seasonally.
The buttery leather menu offered so many unique options that made ordering a tricky task. Tyler got a Negroni and I decided on a Rebecca's Folly which had vodka, cassis, lime juice, cane sugar, and apricot. It was delish.
Make sure to check this gem out. It's the perfect destination for a date night drink, happy hour with co-workers, or after dinner stop with friends. Here's an invite from Buffalo Traders themselves:
So have a seat, enjoy conversations with your group or even the stranger sitting next to you. If you don’t know what you like, our bartenders would be more than happy to collaborate with you create a cocktail tailored to your pallet. Enjoy an evening of class, distinction, unbridled camaraderie.
Sincerely,
Ashley
