Fall at Fulton Street Farmers Market

There’s something so magical about a farmers market in the fall…

Not sure if it’s the crisp air, pumpkins, beautifully colors mums but there’s something special about it. To celebrate the (finally) arrival of fall, a couple friends and I went to Fulton Street which is one of my faves in the area. We grabbed some fresh produce, chatted, and snapped some photos while we strolled.

Loved being able to spend some time with these gals (and Kristin’s little guy of course). And yes, Abby looked that chic at a farmers market #queen.

Wanted to share some of the items that I purchased and what I did with them. Hopefully it inspires you to skip the grocery store once in awhile and head to a local market instead…nothing like it. Items I got: pears, apples, cilantro, spaghetti squash, and potatoes.

WHAT I MADE:

-Simple salad with a base of spinach leaves and shredded kale. Added slices of pears and apple, almonds, and some dried cranberries. Topped off with a poppyseed dressing.

-Street taco tortillas, grilled chicken (squeeze of lime while grilling), diced cilantro, pickled red onions, and a little cotija cheese.

-Doug’s mom always makes the best spaghetti squash so I usually go with her method. Slice it open from top to bottom and lay on a baking sheet. Take out all of the seeds/insides (kind of like a pumpkin). I put a couple squares of butter on each side and sprinkle with salt and pepper. Usually takes about 45 minutes to cook through at 450 degrees. Great as a side or as a substitute for pasta.

-Haven’t made the potatoes that I got yet but planning to use those this week. I got a mixture of red and purple ones so let me know if you have any suggestions!

Would love to hear what your favorite items to purchase at the market! Happy fall y’all.

Sincerely,
Ashley
