The Giving Wall

Ready for one of the most beautiful walls in Grand Rapids?

A little while ago, I did a post on spreading kindness like confetti (read that here). My dear Tyler and his friend Bethany helped that phrase come to life.

For an art installation project, they came up with the concept of "The Giving Wall." It was born out of both of their hearts hoping for more kindness and positivity in the world. They folded origami butterflies that held lovely affirmations. They clipped them to an ivy wall with the hope that people would wander over there to to find a message of light.

The ones I chose spoke straight to my soul. It seems so simple, right? A small sheet of paper with some writing on it. But, it stands for things that are so much grander: kindness, creativity, art, self-love, positivity...the power and connectedness that's created when we encourage each other.

I'm so grateful that these two braved a rainstorm to hang little symbols of love and inspiration for this city.

Make sure to go find the wall at the corner of Division and Lyon. If you head over there, post a photo and tag it #thegivingwallgr. Also, keep up with the adventure on Instagram @thegivingwall.
