These Boots Were Made for Winter
Bring it on Michigan, these boots are ready for ya.
Winter boots are a struggle for me. It’s wildly ironic since…ya know, we live in Michigan. Here’s my issue: the warmest, grippy-est boots always look the worst. I think there’s a giant hole in the footwear industry when it comes to boot aesthetics. I get it, they are largely more for function than fashion, but I still feel like you have a responsibility to look good when you unexpectedly slip on black ice.
Sorel Boots have been a good solution for me when it comes to my winter-boot-fashion-struggle. Their boots are waterproof, warm, and they have a generous amount of styles to choose from. I fell in love with this pair from the serious tread to the red laces against the camel colored boot. They’re just the right amount of plushy comfy without feeling like you’re leaving the house in a pair of slippers.
For this outing, a friend and I were heading to a winter market. It felt great to get out, enjoy a bit of fresh air, and stock up on a few essentials (fresh bakery items count as essentials, right?)
The boots were the perfect choice for our chilly morning. I paired them with my favorite distressed denim, simple turtleneck sweater, and quilted field jacket…another favorite. I appreciate that it’s warm, but not obnoxiously puffy. It’s perfect for one of those cooler days that isn’t quite the devastatingly cold ones you need a parka for. Again, Michigan problems.
Do you have the same boot problem I do? Is there a brand you love for winter footwear?
