Week of Velvet: Monday
When it comes to this velvet trend? I am ALL IN.
One of my favorite trends this year (and especially this winter/holiday season) is velvet. I love the luxurious and festive feel that these pieces have. For whatever reason, whether it's nostalgia or the coziness factor, it's the most perfect material for this time of year.
I overheard someone in the store the other day, "I love all the velvet but I am scared about purchasing it. How do I wear it? Is it too...much?" Inspired by this velvet-shy-stranger, this week I will be sharing my favorite examples with ideas of how to style them right into your daily life.
MONDAY=Target Velvet Shift Dress
Anyone else a sucker for a light blush? I saw this simple shift dress at Target and had to have it. It has a really buttery velvet feel. I linked it below-it went on clearance this morning for Cyber Monday so it's $17! Can't go wrong there. For those of you with a penchant for darker colors, it also comes in a deep navy.
- DRESS UP: Pair with heels and a more formal pea coat for an evening out like I did here.
- DRESS DOWN: Throw on your favorite distressed denim, this dress as a tunic, and a blazer for a more casual (but still put together) look.
For my velvet veterans to the more hesitant fans, this week will be a mix in terms of style and price point. I will make sure to include where you can shop the items I am wearing (or similar picks) so you can take part in the most plushy trend of the season.
