Week of Velvet: Wednesday
When it comes to this velvet trend? I am ALL IN.
Happy Wednesday friends. I hope that your days were full of interesting things to read, funny people, and strong coffee. Mine has included (ahem) a few cups because maybe, someone stayed up too late last night. When you're in the zone, it's tough to leave-does anyone else have this feeling late at night? I will lose track of time because I am reveling in the productivity...and then I have to use extra concealer the next morning. Supes cute.
Our quest into the land of velvet continues today with a great velvet shirt from Marie La Mode. It's a boutique based in Grand Rapids that has a thoughtfully curated collection of everything from everyday tees to statement jumpsuits. I was introduced to the company through their mobile pop-ups. They have an adorable trailer that they will drive to different markets and set up shop. Such a fun shopping experience! The owner, Liz is a gem. Just one of those gals that you get the best vibe from the moment you meet them.
WEDNESDAY=Marie La Mode Velvet Shirt
I loved the color of this shirt mainly because it isn't a color that I would usually pick. I liked the depth of its shade and for whatever reason immediately pictured it with a leather jacket. I think the strictness of the jacket brings and interesting contrast to the soft vibe of the top.
- DRESS UP: It's a longer shirt, closer to tunic length. I think it would look adorable knotted with a midi skirt that has some volume and heels. Hair up, statement earrings.
- DRESS DOWN: Like I did in these photos, you can pair with a leather jacket, black jeans (my latest favorite are these rough hems), and booties.
Which has been your favorite velvet look so far?
