A Rainy Morning at Idyll Farms
The one where we bottle fed baby goats and toured this dreamy farm.
I have been sharing some of the experiences that we had during the blogger retreat at The Leland Lodge. One of my favorite parts? A tour of Idyll Farms. Goat cheese + a baby goat in a baby onesie=SIGN ME UP.
After a winding ride through the countryside, we came upon one of the most beautiful farms that I have ever seen. From the rolling green hills to the stately barns, it was all stunning. The light rain and grey skies made it feel like we had been transported to Europe…it was so beautiful.
The owner, Amy, welcomed us holding the sweetest little goat friend in PJs. She filled us in on the property and led us to the barn for a tasting. They had a lovely spread of their cheeses for us to try. Guys. There’s a reason why their cheese has won awards. It was all absolutely delicious (they are in various locations so do a search to see if any markets that are local to you carry their product)! While we tried all the different cheeses, a few members of the team wandered in and out of the barn sharing everything from their favorite variety to why they love working for Idyll. The whole experience was beyond charming.
I would highly suggest this tour if you are going to be in the Leland area. From the kind, sincere host to the pristine environment, we all left feeling inspired (and full of goat cheese, of course). They only do tours on specific dates and there are a couple left this summer. You can find information/sign-ups here.
Sincerely,
Ashley
