Week of Velvet: Friday

When it comes to this velvet trend? I am ALL IN.

Today is the last day of my velvet series. I have really loved diving into this pretty trend. Thanks so much for all of the great feedback! I loved hearing about your favorite looks and am so happy that this inspired some of you to rock velvet this holiday season.

I like when clothing pushes us outside of our comfort zone or allows us to express unique parts of ourselves. I think this is a gift that wardrobe gives-an opportunity to think about how we are feeling and what we would like to say to the world. With all that in mind, my final post in the series is probably my favorite piece...

FRIDAY=Free People Duster

Feel in deep, happy love with this duster when I saw it. I had major debate between the pink color that it comes in and this rust/yellow that I landed on. It has beautiful lilac colored fabric on the inside and tassels where the sleeves end, which only furthered my fangirl moment (thanks to my dear friend Jo for reminding me of how solid that term is).

  • DRESS UP: Dreaming about wearing this statement piece with a shorter black dress, ankle strap heels, dramatic top knot, and some good earrings.

  • DRESS DOWN: For a day of romping and shopping I wore the duster with jeans, a tunic, and ascot scarf (minus the fur...but the fur detail it comes with is ah-mazing).

Thanks to the babe Kristin Jones (in the photo above) for these photos and a fun day in Ann Arbor! ALL: this has been fab. Thanks for following along on my week full of velvet. Youdabest.
