What If You Fly?
There is freedom waiting for you, on the breezes of the sky. And you ask 'What if I fall?'
Oh but my darling, what if you fly?
-E. Hanson
Oh heyyy...cheers to a new week. My wandering mind today inspired some rambling for your Monday.
Sometimes I get the feeling that we live in a world full of no and don't-ers. Negativity reigns because you are able to live in "the world of less"...less risk, less worry about what others think, less investment of time and resources.
But, what if we fought against this avenue of thought and opened ourselves up to the beauty of possibility. What if we chased down the daydream...stopped thinking in terms of I could never/that would be so tough and instead operated out of the place where our true passions lie. There is magic when we believe we can fly and intentionally pursue what sets our soul on fire.
We live in a world that so often preaches acceptance but lives through comparison and judgment. It's easy to get caught up in the thought pattern of "what do I have to contribute to all the noise?" The answer is a whole hell of a lot. Silence the doubt that plagues you and let grace rise to the surface. Because darling, what if you fly?
So...
That new venture you have been dreaming about? Do it. That project you have been too afraid to tackle? Start. Don't let anyone tell you that you can't do it.
I find that sometimes when we start something there is fear of it being small. We want things to be established and successful because the waiting period is intimidating (not to mention you're face to face with the risk of the thing). But, embrace the beauty in this space...the waiting, hoping, dreaming. It provides fuel for the next step of the journey. And the biggest thing? Let something be 'small'...if you are pursuing your life's calling it's anything but small.
I am blessed to be surrounded by individuals who believe in me and my dreams. This has been crucial for me when it comes to pursuing things that I am passionate about. It isn't always the same voice either. I have friends/family who are creatives that encourage me to jump in with abandon. Since balance is so important, I am also grateful for the people who help me slow down to plan/strategize. Both are vital and will be important support systems.
Friends, it doesn't have to be a full lifestyle change or establishing a business tomorrow...it's only important to begin. Fly.
