The Power of a Pink Dress

There’s something empowering about bold colors.

I feel like my style has been a bit…interesting lately. By interesting, I mean that I have basically been wearing some iteration of a t-shirt and joggers since early March. With everything going on in the world and our family, fashion clearly wasn’t a necessary focus.

Now that things are starting to inch towards vestiges of normal, I have found myself wanting to get dressed again even if it’s just for the grocery store. Honestly, I haven’t felt super inspired. I think that usually I’m brainstorming about the fun events/trips that summer brings and since most of that is on hold right now, it’s left me a little stuck.

This pink dress was a random find at H&M. It’s nothing crazy, but it was the burst of color that I needed. There’s something empowering about wearing a bold color. It feels like slipping on a breath of fresh air and this style-bored gal needed that breath. I paired with a pair of pale pink Tory Burch loafers and a bandana that had both the hot and pale pink in it to quite literally, tie it all together.

It was just for lunch and a few errands with a friend…but it felt good. To be wearing normal clothes that aren’t joggers. To be out and about (while masked of course). To be soaking in the sunshine and the possibility that beautiful summer days seem to bring.

Have you been finding yourself in a bit of a fashion rut lately (or whatever is deeper and more intense than a rut)? Throw that favorite dress on. It’s incredibly simple, but makes a world of difference.

Sincerely,
Ashley
