I enjoyed a quick trip to Detroit recently. A driveable 2ish hours from Grand Rapids, it’s an easy overnight or day trip. It’s an inspiring place. Given their comeback story, you feel like heart and hustle is naturally injected into the city’s DNA.

I think the word of this year is challenging. It’s pushed people to their farthest limits and tested us in ways we couldn’t have envisioned a year ago. The terms social distancing, infection rates, and stay at home weren’t even on my vocab’s radar this time last year. Now, they are daily conversations.

Between summer and still living in a world of Coronavirus, I find myself craving time outside. I have been working from home much more than normal and I am surprised at how different that feels vs. heading to a coffeeshop where there is noise/people/conversation around you. It has left me looking for ways to be around people in a responsible way and head outdoors.
